Certain status information is helpful in administering a database. The most important information is displayed in a status box in every user menu. You will find a display of all status details in the Properties user menu.

Procedure

Open the Database Assistant (transaction DB50) or the liveCache Assistant (transaction LC10). Choose Properties.

The properties display is a component of the DBA Cockpit and as such can be called as follows: In the DBA Cockpit, select the DB Properties user menu.

The following Properties are displayed under Operational State:

SAP liveCache Technology: If you want to see all the logs, not just the current ones, switch to the Operating Logs display.

Note Note

The most important information (name of the database connection, database/liveCache name, database/liveCache server, operational state, database/liveCache version) is displayed in a status box in every user menu.

Recalculating Values

The values are recalculated in the following cases:

  • You start the Database Assistant (transaction DB50) or the liveCache Assistant (transaction LC10).

  • You choose the Refresh button.

  • After starting or stopping the database.

    After the liveCache database is started, stopped, or initialized.

Displaying Critical Database States

If the data or log area has become full, the system displays this. If one of these critical states occurs, the Properties application appears as the first display in the Database Assistant or liveCache Assistant, no matter which starter application you selected (user menu liveCache: Monitoring, more information:Start Application for liveCache: Monitoring).

If the system finds any bad indexes, you will see this displayed (more information: Indexes).).

Hot Standby System

In the case of a Hot Standby System, additional information on the individual standby instances (name, type and operational status) is displayed.
