Use

The Installation Manager for the MaxDB software is a graphical interface tool enabling you to install the entire MaxDB software package or individual software components and also create, upgrade and uninstall a database instance.

You can use the Installation Manager to easily and quickly perform a preconfigured desktop installation. However, you can also choose the expert mode and adapt the default parameter values - such as database size, memory size, number of CPUs, log settings, and the automatic starting of the data base instance, to your requirements.

The Installation Manager also guides you through the updating of your existing MaxDB software and database instances.

While installing the software, you can create a database instance at the same time. You can also use the Installation Manager to create database instances for an existing software version at a later date.

You can select options to create a demo database together with the software installation and, if required, fill it with the example data used in the documentation. This enables you to reproduce the examples shown in the MaxDB documentation step by step and to obtain similar results.

To create database instances, you choose templates.
