Installation, Upgrade and Uninstallation on the Command Line 

Use

You can install the complete MaxDB software or individual software components using command-line programs and also upgrade and uninstall software and database instances.

You have the following command line programs at your disposal for this purpose:

·        SDBINST for installing/updating component groups, installation profiles and individual software components taking into account dependencies between the components.

·        SDBUNINST for uninstalling software components, taking into account dependencies between the components

·        SDBUPD for upgrading database instances and their server software

The description of upgrading database instances and their server software also applies to database instances in SAP systems.
