You can administer your database system, for example with the DBA Cockpit or the Database Assistant. To be able to use the DBA Cockpit or the Database Assistant for monitoring remote systems, too, you need to configure these systems and integrate them into your system landscape.

The process of integrating your SAP MaxDB database system into the system landscape differs depending on which SAP NetWeaver release you are using. For a detailed description of the release-dependent procedure, refer to SAP Note 1028751.
You can use the Database Assistant to create or change connection and user data, among other things. The following functions are available: Display/Change Integration Data.

When you start the DBA Cockpit, the defined default system (default value: the local system is the default system) is called for administration with DBA Cockpit. You can call another system using one of the following options:
Call the desired database system
Use the system landscape function bar to choose the list of systems System <Name of the configuration entry for the system>. You can select the desired system as follows:
Choose Current Selection: System In the list of all systems, you can select the desired system by different criteria.
Select the desired system from the dropdown box.
Configuring the database system
In the system landscape toolbar, choose System Configuration. The screen DBA Cockpit: System Configuration Maintenance appears.
The following functions are available: Display System Entry, Change System Entry, Delete System Entry, or Add System Entry.
Changing the setting of the default system for the current user
In the system landscape toolbar, choose System Configuration. The screen DBA Cockpit: System Configuration Maintenance appears.
In the System Configuration list, select the desired system and choose Default System.

The system displays an overview of all SAP MAxDB and SAP liveCache databases integrated into your system landscape. The following functions are available: Integrate Database or Display/Change Integration Data.
