Database Files 
In the Diagnosis user menu of the DBA Cockpit, you can find, among other things, a list of all the log and message files in the database system.
Procedure
Open the DBA Cockpit (transaction DBACOCKPIT) and choose

You can choose the following display options:

For SAP NetWeaver 7.1, the database files are displayed in the Properties user menu, in the Files area.
Result
Database files can contain various types of information, including information on the size and contents of the files.
Choose a file and select Display File to show the content of this file. You can only show ASCII files with this display. For very large files, the system asks for confirmation. Files that are larger than 50 MB in size cannot be displayed in the SAP system.
Choose the file and select Save File to download this file to the directory that you specified.
