Note
You can also delete databases using Installation Manager.
For more information, see your installation documentation.
You are logged on to the database as database system administrator or as a DBM operator with server authorization for managing installations.
More information: Glossary, Server Permission
The database is in the OFFLINE operational state.
In the context menu of the database you want to delete, choose Delete Database...
You can select the following options:
Option |
Description |
---|---|
Force DBM servers to stop |
Stops all DBM servers immediately, regardless of whether or not they are still executing commands. If you do not choose this option, Database Studio does not stop the DBM servers until they have executed all their active commands. |
Delete database files |
Deletes all database files. If you do not choose this option, Database Studio only deletes the database service, but the files (volumes, log files, and so on) remain in the file system. You have to use operating system tools to access these files; you can no longer access them using database tools. |
To delete the database, choose Delete.
