Backups with Backup Tools from Other
Providers 
Use
You start the backup operation directly from the Database Manager CLI. Depending on the backup tool and the type of the backup template used, the data is either backed up in the backup tool or stored in a pipe to be retrieved by the backup tool.
You have defined the requisite backup template, configured the MaxDB software installation for the backup tool being used and transferred the database instance to the ADMIN or ONLINE operational state. You have inserted the data carrier into the backup tool.
