You configure all the programs, database instances and services necessary for the synchronization on the computers involved in the synchronization.

The Synchronization Manager software is located in the <independent_program_path>\app\syncman directory. This directory is referred to as <syncman> in the following.
Microsoft Windows: <syncman>=C:\Program Files\sdb\app\syncman
UNIX/Linux: <syncman>=/opt/sdb/programs/app/syncman

○ j2ee.jar from the Java 2 Enterprise SDK ≥ 1.4, see java.sun.com/j2ee

○ Eclipse SDK or Eclipse Platform Runtime binary package, see www.eclipse.org
We recommend that you always specify computer names when carrying out the configuration. Do not use localhost or IP addresses. IP addresses (except 127.0.0.1) may be assigned dynamically in the network.
