Reverting to a snapshot means that you discard all data changes that have been made since the snapshot and restore the state the database was in when you created the snapshot.

Prerequisites

  • You are logged on to the database as the database system administrator or as a DBM operator.

    More information: Glossary, Server Permission

  • The database is in the ADMIN operational state.

Procedure

  1. Select the database in the explorer tree.

  2. In the context menu of the database, choose Administration.

  3. Open the Snapshots tab page.

  4. Select the snapshot you want to revert the database to.

  5. Choose Revert to...

  6. If you have created more than one snapshot, select the snapshot you want to use.

  7. If you do not want to start the database after it has been reverted to the snapshot, deselect Restart database after revert to snapshot.

    Recommendation Recommendation

Deselect this option if you now want to execute other administration tasks that require the ADMIN operational state.

    End of the recommendation.
  8. Reverting to a snapshot disrupts the backup history. Carry out a complete data backup so you can back up log entries again.
