Over time, the recommended settings for the configuration of the database may change. You can perform a check to see whether your database configuration still complies with the current recommendations for you system.

The following settings are checked:

  • Whether the most important database parameters are set according to the recommendations for your system

  • Whether there are any broken indexes

  • Whether the database trace is activated

  • Whether there are tables for which no statistical information is stored in the file directory

  • Whether logging is activated and overwriting of the log area is deactivated

  • Whether the data cache size corresponds to the recommendations for your system


In SAP systems, proceed as described in SAP Note 1111426 (Parameter check for liveCache/MaxDB instances).

In other systems, download the Parameter Check File from the SAP MaxDB download area on SCN ( and proceed as described there.
