Database Tools

Use

The MaxDB software includes a number of database tools.

For information on where to obtain MaxDB software and how to install it, see the Download section and the Structure link Installation Manual. SAP Solution Life Cycle Management (CCMS) is only available in SAP systems. For more information, see the respective Installation Guides.

Some of the database tools are available in multiple variants:

· GUI: Graphical user interface
has to be installed locally, can only be used with Microsoft Windows

· CLI: Command line
All functions are available, can be used for background processing and embedded in scripting languages (such as Python, Perl), can be used on all supported operating systems

· Web: Web interface
Only the most important functions are available, is installed centrally, operated using a Web browser, platform-independent

Note

Further development of the following web tools has been discontinued: Web DBM, Web Server, Web Server Manager. These web tools are only included in the MaxDB software package up to and including version 7.5. SAP customers can find more information in SAP Note 856940 (ordering web tools).
