Trace On

TraceFileName

To activate the ODBC trace for the database instance, choose this property and enter the path and name of the file in which you want the database system to log SQL statements.

Note

This ODBC trace is not to be confused with the driver manager log (tracing) of the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator.

The next time you log on to the database instance, the database instance logs all SQL statements sent to the database instance by the application, including the following information:

     Execution time

     CONNECT parameters

     Input and output parameters

Start and end of the database session

Caution

If the ODBC trace is on, the system performs numerous file operations. This can affect the execution speed of the application. Therefore, switch the ODBC trace off as soon as the actions you wish to analyze with the ODBC trace have been executed.
