Use

All installation/update steps and the steps involved in upgrading database instances and their server software are saved in log files. The name of the log file indicates the MaxDB or SAP liveCache product name.

Conventions

Directories

Location of Log Files for Installations/Updates

     UNIX/Linux (tgz package):
<independent_data_path>/wrk/MAXDB<profile>_install-<date>-<time>.log

or

<independent_data_path>/wrk/SAPliveCache<profile>_install-<date>-<time>.log

     Microsoft Windows:
<independent_data_path>\wrk\MAXDB<profile>_install-<date>-<time>.log

or

<independent_data_path>\wrk\SAPliveCache<profile>_install-<date>-<time>.log

If the <independent_data_path> directory is not known when the system crashes, the log file is created in the current directory.

Note

If you have installed/updated individual software components, the steps are logged in:
MAXDBSoftware_install-<date>-<time>.log

or

SAPliveCacheSoftware_install-<date>-<time>.log

Location of the Log File for Updates of Database Instances and Their Software (Upgrades)

     UNIX/Linux (tgz package):
<independent_data_path>/wrk/MAXDBUpgrade_install-<date>-<time>.log or

<independent_data_path>/wrk/SAPliveCacheUpgrade_install-<date>-<time>.log

     Microsoft Windows:
<independent_data_path>\wrk\MAXDBUpgrade_install-<date>-<time>.log

or
