Procedure documentation Monitoring the Operational State Locate the document in the library structure

You can use the Database Manager GUI to monitor the operational state of each database instance.

Prerequisites

       1.      Make sure that the database instance has been included in the list of database instances (see Managing the List of Database Instances).

       2.      Connect to the DBM server.

Displaying the Operational State

Check the indicator assigned to the general icon for the database instance in the list of database instances.

You can use displays View ® Large Icons/Small Icons/List for this purpose.

Master instance or standby instance is in the OFFLINE operational state.

Master instance is in the ONLINE operational state.

Changing the Operational State

Select a database instance in the list of database instances by double-clicking it.

Choose Actions ® OFFLINE / ADMIN / ONLINE to change to the relevant operational state.

Caution

You cannot change the operational state of standby instances in a hot standby system directly. Standby instances are controlled by the master instance.
