You can create a database instance on a local or remote computer using the Database Manager GUI.

Prerequisites

     Database instance on a local computer
As an operating system user, you have administrator rights for the computer.

     Database instance on a remote computer
Microsoft Windows: You need an operating system user for the remote computer that has administrator rights and the right log on as batch job or a comparable right
UNIX: You need an operating system user for the remote computer that is a member of the sdba group (see Structure link<sdba_group> (special operating system group)).

Choose Instance ® Create... .

Choose Next to start each of the required steps. Choose one of the following options:

     Desktop PC / Laptop

     Custom

     My Templates
