The development environment is used to change the source code of MaxDB programs and to recreate these MaxDB programs.
You
can use the development environment on all operating systems
that are supported by the database system, although the installation and some
functions differ slightly depending on the operating system.
The
development environment is an integral part of the MaxDB software. For
information on how to obtain the MaxDB software, see Download. For more
information about the database system, see
Concepts of the
Database System. For quick access to all documentation and an explanation
of the most important terms, use the alphabetical
Glossary.
The following tools are available, among others:
● Scripts for initializing the development environment
● Scripts for processing source code and comparing different versions of files
● Scripts for calling VMAKE
● VMAKE for translating and linking the changed source code
The database tools Database Manager GUI and SQL Studio are not created using the development environment described here.
Example: Translating the File HelloWorld.c
Example: Creating the Program Database Manager CLI
