Use

You request output of the rest of the content of an opened database file.

To do this, you use the file handle output when you opened the database file (see file_getfirst).

Prerequisites

     You have opened a database file. The keyword CONTINUE in the answer indicates that the whole file has not yet been transferred.

     You have the server authorization DBFileRead.

     You have determined the file ID of the file (see file_getlist).

Syntax

file_getnext <file_ID> <file_handle>

Values for the Reply Fields

Description

<file_handle>

Numeric value that can be used for subsequent access to this file.

END

The content of the file has been transferred completely. The file is closed automatically.

CONTINUE

The file contains further entries that were not transferred due to the limited size of the reply packet. You can display this data by entering the DBM command again or close the file.

<file_length>

File length

The total length of the file is not determined again and is, therefore, set to 0.

<data_length>

Length of the displayed data block, length of this information: 20 characters maximum
