Purpose

The Synchronization Manager is a collection of various programs and scripts with which you can synchronize the data of a master database instance with the data of one or more client database instances. The data of the client database instances is generally a subset of the data of the master database instance. All database instances involved in the synchronization can simultaneously read, update and change data.

Since data is transferred asynchronously in a synchronization, the database instances whose data is being synchronized do not have to be online simultaneously. This means that mobile applications can also use the procedure.

The Synchronization Manager can be used on all Structure linkoperating systems supported by the database system.

Implementation

The Synchronization Manager is a component of the MaxDB software. For information on where to find MaxDB software and how to install it, see the Structure linkDownload section; and in the Installation Manual, see Structure linkInstalling the Synchronization Manager.

For more information about the database system, see Structure linkConcepts of the Database System. For quick access to all documentation and an explanation of the most important terms, use the alphabetical Structure linkGlossary.
